Cambodian BBQ feat Mamapen: Wed April 3rd
Mamapen is a Cambodian barbecue pop up run by Chef Kaneda Pen. The pop up is inspired by Kaneda’s Cambodian upbringing and he happens to be one of the only active Cambodians serving food in London. On Wednesday April 3rd we will be heading over to The King and Co in Clapham to try out Mamapen Cambodian BBQ family style!

What inspired you to start Mamapen?
At the beginning of 2020 an opportunity arose to start a business with two friends […] who suggested the gap in the market for Cambodian cuisine, which then made me realise I had a library of knowledge and untapped potential handed down from my mother.
What should people know about Cambodian cuisine?
People should get acquainted with kroueng, our national ingredient. Essentially a curry paste rich in lemongrass, galangal and turmeric, it is the lifeblood of Cambodian cuisine.
What are your favorite dishes at Mamapen?
The tattie mince noodles are my favourite. They are a Scottish-Cambodian mix inspired by my girlfriend’s heritage and love for mince and tatties.
As part of this event we will be trying out dishes including: Panko pork toast with fried egg and XO sauce, tattie mince noodles, Khmer bbq half chicken with scotch teriaki glaze, tofu knots with chili oil and peanuts, sour pineapple curry, mango and coconut sponge cake and more!
