Karla Zazueta (AKA @mexicanfoodmemories) is a self-taught chef, Mexican cookery teacher, and food writer originally from Baja California, Mexico. Her recipes have been featured in The Guardian, BBC Food, NatGeo Food Magazine and, she just released her first cookbook, Norteña, where she shares the story of her families recipes from northern Mexico.
Home-style Birria Supper Club feat. Karla Zazueta on Friday July 12th
On Friday, July 12th, Karla is opening up her home studio in North London for a home-style Birria Tacos supper club exclusively for Wednesdays members!
Birria is a stew of meat marinated in an adobo made of vinegar, dried chiles, garlic, herbs, and spices, slow-simmered for hours in a broth. Karla makes birria on special occasions, and when she does, she makes A LOT, so get ready for a proper home-cooked feast you cannot find in most Mexican restaurants, featuring a nearly unlimited amount of Birria tacos 🔥😏🔥
The evening will feature a 5-course menu starting off with welcome margaritas and tostadas, followed by red prawn aguachile, caldo de queso, and lots of beef birria served with pinto beans and fresh corn tortillas. For dessert, a Mexican flan with strawberries. 🍋 🌮 🍮
The cost of a ticket is £60/person (BYOB). Limited space so book soon to avoid a life without home-cooked Birria 😌

Jeux Jeux specializes in Hiroshima style okonomiyaki- a savoury Japanese cabbage pancake in which ingredients are layered on top of each other in a specific order. We’ll be sharing a variety of okonomiyaki along with yakisoba noodles, and yaki meshi (fried rice)🍜🥢 🍱
