Celebrating the Harvest: Day Trip to Tillingham Winery
A journey into British winemaking in the East Sussex countryside
Celebrating the Harvest: Trip to Tillingham Winery, Sunday, October 6th
Ever wondered what “biodynamic” wine actually means? The term gets thrown around a lot especially at fancy wine bars in London. But how is it different from conventional wine? What process is it made by and who actually makes the wine we love to drink?
On Sunday October 6th, we’re journeying into the East Sussex countryside to spend the day with the team at Tillingham Winery. Set across 70 acres of rolling hills, the Tillingham estate is a mixed farm that dates back to the 13th century, home to vineyards, ancient woodland and livestock.
We’ll be learning about biodynamic wine making, touring the winemaking estate, sampling their seasonal farm menu and of course, drinking lots of their delicious wines.
But.. there’s more! The team at Tillingham have kindly given our members access to their vineyards and gardens for the day. We’ll be meeting Head Grower Becca Fawn for a private tour of the walled garden to learn how produce is grown regeneratively for the restaurant and get also get a chance to participate in the wine harvest itself.
We’ll get to eat the very same produce from the farm at our Sunday Farm Roast lunch at Tillingham’s Michelin Green Star restaurant. Set in the private dining room overlooking the vineyards, this meal will feature dishes like heritage tomato concasse, roast leg of morebread lamb, and meringue, with chantilly cream all courtesy of Head Chef Brendan Eades (Ex-SILO & Conduit Club)
These experiences are NOT available for the public and will be exclusively for members attending this trip!
